Kinhundul
After the original Kinmet was constructed, it was used as the basis for constructing the 100 Kinhundul. Each Kinhundul is a rectangular cube exactly the same width and thickness as the Kinmet, but yat hundul (1/100th) of the length of the Kinmet. Each of the 100 Kinhundul weighs exactly the same, and together, the 100 Kinhundul weigh exactly the same as the Kinmet. All of the Kinhundul are made of the same steel as the Kinmet, plated with gold, exactly as the Kinmet. Each is numbered, 1 to 100, and engraved with the mark of the Royal Forge and Smith.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Each official steel haganhundul by law is engraved with a series number and the mark of the smith that made it. The original 100 Kinhundul are engraved as series numbers 1 through 100 and with the mark of the Royal Forge and Smith located at Daskar. There were ten sets of 100 exact haganhundul copies of the Kinhundul made at the Royal Forge and Smith. They are engraved as series 2.1 to 2.100 up to 10.1 to 10.100 and with the mark of the Royal Forge and Smith. Those original haganhundul sets were distributed to prominent, skilled, and licensed smiths throughout Sudland. Copies of those copies are marked with series 2.1.1, 2.2.1,...2.100.1, 2.1.2,...2.100.2, to 2.1.N...2.100.N for copies of the second hagandul set. Copies of the third hagandul set were marked with 3.1.N to 3.100.N for the Nth copy. The Nth copies of the Mth hagandul set are marked M.1.N to M.100.N. All copies must also be engraved with the mark of the licensed smith that made the copy. DIsputes over measurements are settled by referencing the haganhundul of the original sets. Any unmarked haganhundul is a forgery and illegal, as is any produced by an unlicensed smith or from any material other than steel, whether marked or not. A customer disputing the weight of something (e.g. grain sold by weight) by law can ask an official to compare the measuring device with an official haganhundul. Damaged or worn haganhundul must be destroyed and discarded according to law.
