The Treasure of Bree
The Treasure of Bree is an ancient, worn, silvery-gold coin displayed on the altar of the Bree Druikminster. It is said to have been passed down in the family of Minister Arnold Ericsson for centuries. No one knows its origin nor how old it truly is. There are no other coins similar to it anywhere in Sudland; it is made of a kind of metal unknown to any smith in Sudland nor to any foreign trader that has seen it. One one side is the outline of the prow of a ship similar to the ones made in Nodyund and Danyund. The other side shows the worn profile of a man. The features are indistinct. Most people believe it is a picture of Druikshe.
The Treasure is encased in a dense block of very clear, flawless glass, approximately 2 inches (5 cm) high by 2 inches (5 cm) wide by 1 inch (2.5 cm) deep, held in a satin-lined polished wooden box encrusted with jewels and inlaid with polished brass and ebony. The box is secured by an elaborate lock, and polished brass bells are attached to the base of the box via brass chains, so that moving it even slightly will cause the bells to ring. Even the breeze caused by walking past the altar quickly will cause the bells to ring. The box is securely held to the altar by a finely-wrought, strong iron chain. Minister Arnold Ericsson holds the only key to the box, and it is kept on his person at all times. On every yatla (the first day of every 10-day week on Derkomai), the box is opened for Druikshe worshippers to view. Some worshippers claim to be able to feel the power of Druikshe emanating from the Treasure.
