Session XXXV - 15.02.2022

General Summary

• The group is on the way to the Demon Zapper where they want to find Mad Maggie's sister Ruth who is apparently an expert in nature-related things (while still being a hag). The group hides the Infernal Machine just outside of the Demon Zapper with Lulu and Laenwynn waiting there. While approaching, the group sees how the Demon Zapper literally zaps some demons which are evaporated by the magical energies shooting from the tip of the Zapper.
• To approach the Demon Zapper further, the group first must navigate through a dangerous forest. Here, they have to fight a Bag of Devouring which tries to eat Darrak alive. With joint forces, the group manages to destroy this creature and to navigate to the Demon Zapper.
• Interestingly, the Demon Zapper looks like a gothic house with a huge tree in its center with a tip that shoots the afore-mentioned magical beams. As the group is about to knock at the door, a small humanoid approaches the group. It's Rose who looks like a child dryad. She is accompanied by a wolf pup named Thorn. Rose says that she is the daughter Red Ruth. Apparently, Ruth asked her to leave the house as there are strange wails coming from the basement (which cannot be accessed via the ground floor, apparently). In any case, Rose is indeed a weird creature.
• After a brief discussion, the group enters the house and searches the ground floor and the first floor. They find a dead dryad near the kitchen on the ground floor. The dryad appears to be dead for quite some time. On the first floor, the group finds some dead demons, again dead since some days. Furthermore, they find a library with a hidden book chamber behind a wall. Maybe the books hidden here hold the key for the entrance to the basement of this strange place.
