Hajall
Properties
Material Characteristics
Hajall is a reflective, pitch-black rock.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Hajall is three-hundred times as sharp as steel. It also emits a low level of heat, which leads some to believe it's imbued with djinn magic.
Geology & Geography
Hajall is the primary stone making up the Hajayatt, and can also be found within the mountains surrounding Kersir.
History & Usage
Everyday use
Hajall is primarily used in weapon-making, to form blades and arrowheads. It's prized for its sharpness.
The stone can also be used as a form of heat, if enough of it is used.
When polished smooth, Hajall can be used in jewelry. Such jewelry can be simply cosmetic, or can even be put to medicinal use when prescribed to someone suffering from chills.
Hazards
Due to Hajall's sharpness, it must be mined with extra caution so there are no injuries. Hajall mines can also be hot, due to the stone's cumulative heat emission, but it's a significant discomfort rather than any real hazard.
Distribution
Trade & Market
Hajall can be found in some form or other all over Teraco. Weapons and jewelry made of Hajall are commonplace, and cheap to the Teraki. Hajall imports, however, are more expensive, and Teraco makes a good deal of livelihood off of the rock.
