Barrage launchers

The Barrage Launchers were 3 massive ballistae-like weapons that equalled an archery brigade in their firepower. With enough projectiles to take down dozens of enemies, and large enough to break up formations, the Barrage Launchers were a formidable force on the battlefield. Originally the idea of an artificer in Wizard's Keep, these massive weapons were seen as an insane gamble, but they ended up paying off. Though they took hours to reload and prepare, they proved critical in the routing of numerous enemy forces that were near unassailable beforehand. The exact construction is unavailable, but what is public is that they stand more than 3 stories tall and more than 200 feet long. It is also capable of depressing or raising angle from anywhere between -15 degrees and 80 degrees into the air, though it requires several minutes to change positions and be safe to fire. Though 3 were made, only 2 survive today. The original blueprints have never been found, and the creator who made them is either dead or hiding. Because of how rare they are, a dozen guards are posted around them even still so as to keep them safe, while a resident team of historians and tinkerers work to preserve and hopefully someday copy these magnificent weapons. Both now currently reside in their birthplace; Wizard's keep.
