The Dome

Of all the manyt transparent domes in Sivien, by far the oldest and most important is simply termed The Dome, a large, 5 acre indoor farm. Mostly potatoes are grown, as they are relatively hearty and mineral dense and easy to grow. Under the main operation lies lower light plants which can be reached by ladders and elevators, with 5 floors total. Using a system of mirrors, natural light is projected onto these plants so as to let them grow. Typically speaking, only natives really buy from The Dome, as guests and travelers tend to eat meats from their hotel, though sometimes the local inns will buy small amounts of food from the dome to supplement their guests.

Working at The Dome is relatively simple, and takes only a few hours a day from volunteers. The profits are given back to the volunteers as tax refunds or discounts, making their lives just a little bit cheaper.
