The Sivien Guard

the Sivien guard is made up of about 150 soldiers, dedicated to keeping the area safe and patrolling the city. At any given point, around 50 soldiers are on patrolling duty, with 50 in reserve and the other 50 on break. Typically, around 20 patrol the Northern city and 30 patrol the Southern city, being that the North has it's own group of guards and is significantly smaller.
The guards have 5 ranks; Captain of the Guard, lieutenant, sergeant, corporal, and private, which is the vast majority of recruits. Each patrol is at least 3 soldiers, with a corporal rank or higher required to lead a watch. The captain of the guard is elected from the ranks of the guard by the citizens of the city each year, with a minimum rank of sergeant required to be elected, though only lieutenants and reelections have occurred. At most, a Captain may serve 4 terms as a Captain. In addition to their routine employees, The Sivien Guard also have reserves and the elite forces of the Winged Cavalry. The reserves are a further 500 soldiers that are mostly made up of former Guards, many of whom have simply moved on to other jobs. The Winged Cavalry is a group of daredevil operatives that is kept to deal with intense threats the normal guard cannot. This makes up a further 50 operatives, leaving Sivien relatively well defended.
The Captain of the Guard holds a seat on the city council, and is currently held by a female orc named Hak Standardbearer, a well liked member of the community with a no-nonsense command style but a wonderful gentle side that she exudes when off duty.
