Oakhurst
The village of Oakhurst. This small settlement of some 900 souls, including the farmsteaders in the surrounding area, survives on a steady trade of grain with the surrounding communities. You’ve heard rumors of solstice festivals that rival anything Waterdeep, and have decided to go see for yourself. And earning a few coin taking out wolves for the local farmers is always an option.
Points of interest
In the center of the village is a round grassy fenced area. During the bi-annual fair it is rumored that there is a planting ceremony done withing the fence, but no one who has ever been there is willing to speak of it.
Tourism
The village of Oakhurst puts on a spectacular fair twice a year; once in the summer and again in the winter. It draws in crowds from all over the Dessarin Valley to play a fair games, watch the planting ceremony, and purchase the villages Apple Butter at a marvelous markup.
A menagerie is a huge draw to the festival. Oddities sit in cages, and twice a day the proprietor puts on a small show with some of the less dangerous creatures he keeps.
