Structure
In the southern Vrithlands, each clan is governed by a Clan Chief who receives guidance from a Confidant, an Elder, and a Shaman. The Chief's position is typically established through physical trials or by inheritance. The Confidant, who need not be a family member, is an individual who has earned the Chief's trust and respect and advises them in addition to assuming the Chief's responsibilities when they are unavailable. The Elder is a male who has achieved significant honors in battle and is usually the previous Chief or the current Chief's father. The clan's magical and spiritual advisor, the Shaman, is bestowed upon the eldest mage in the clan. When decisions impacting all clans must be made, the Chiefs congregate in a conference called the Council of Chiefs.
Culture
The Vrithmen are a society with a long-standing warrior culture that has historically kept them divided. This is due to the fact that few invaders have been able to successfully cross The Vrith and pose a real threat to them. However, in recent times, the ongoing conflict between the Northern Empire and The Southern Clans has given the Vrithmen a means to fight and uphold their honor.
Public Agenda
The Southern Clans aim to overthrow The Northern Empire and revert The Vrithlands to their pre-unification state, prior to the clans banding together to repel the arctic elves.

Judicial Body
The legal system in the southern clans is quite harsh, given that a clan's leader acts as the sole judge and it is based arbitrarily on their own ideology. This means that there are no clear guidelines or principles to determine what is considered illegal, and the clan leader has complete discretion to interpret and enforce the law. The legal system is primarily focused on deterrence and punishment rather than rehabilitation or restorative justice. The primary forms of punishment are physical punishment and execution.
