The Arena
The Arena is a place where fighting tournaments take place. Tournaments now take place 25 day before Winter and Summer Solstice and ends on the Solstice. When the tournament start, fighters will spend those 25 days inside the Arena, seldom leaving the premises.
Purpose / Function
The Arena is now used for Tournaments and as training ground for the fighters.
History
Before end of the Era of Order, the Arena was used for Death Matches as entertainment for the royalty. Death Matches were between either the Arena Champion and another well loved fighter or between monsters and a fighter.
The more loved matches were between the Champion and a fighter, people would often bet on who would win. Champion matches would take place once a month and other fights would happen every other week. These occasions quite popular, even amongst the normal Azadian.
It was also an occasion where people had a chance to earn, or lose a lot of money by betting on the fighters. The largest betting pool every recorded was about 500 000 GP in that time, with over 3000 participants. The bet took place during a Champion match between the then reigning Champion, Morvenom and the well loved fighter, Nikolas.
