Laidrian Field Uniform
The uniforms of the Laidrian army are, like many modern uniforms, largely lacking in much of the pomp and flair uniforms had in the previous age. Gone are the days of plumes and flared wings. Of bright colors and tall hats. Now colors are reserved, uniforms are simpler and more practical.
Even with this general reduction of eye-catching detail, the field uniforms of the Laidrian army are distinctly unglamorous, and yet presents a look of efficiency and reliability to the wearer.
Its base color is the charcoal of the Laidrian flag, with gray cuffs and collar.
Starting from the top-down, the uniform consists of:
A charcoal kepi, featuring a badge attached to the front with a colored band, indicative of assignment (infantry, cavalry, artillery, etc) and mortality respectively. Silver for divine, gunmetal grey for mortal, white for civilian contractors, and a double band of silver and white for divine individuals not officially enlisted with the military.
A matching coat with silver buttons, grey cuffs and collars (silver for divine individuals), as well as rank chevrons on the sleeve of the upper arm, done in silver for all soldiers. For commanding officers, their rank is displayed through a wide, downward-angled band in the same location.
A leather belt is issued, with a large metal belt buckle that also contains an indication of a soldiers assignment. Laidrian cavalrymen are particularly proud of the crossed revolvers behind the horsehead emblazoned upon theirs.
Pants are solidly colored for privates, with ranks above sergeant getting between one to three silver stripes down the outer side of both legs.
