The lims

A small, handheld, rectangular, wind instrument that is the traditional instrument of Laidros. Its playing is seen as a point of pride and is widely popular across the country.   The instrument itself is can be constructed from wood, metal, or stone depending on the exact sound you're attempting to make. Its construction is not simple and as such master craftsmen are essential to it's production.   When played, the player blows into a small side of the instruments rectangular shape. As they do so, they manipulate a series of spring tensioned switches along the length of the instrument to modifying the shape and size of the internal channels, changing things like tone and pitch.   It can be played one handed with a little practice, but to get the full sound requires the instrument to be played with two hands.
