Instead of curing disease or relieving symptoms, this Elixir creates a copy of the drinker's body free of illness, injury, or other conditions, which their soul possesses for a time before the copy fades and their soul returns to their ailing body. Injuries and conditions sustained by the drinker while possessing the duplicate do not affect their original body.

The primary use for this Elixir is to offer temporary relief from an ailment that makes certain tasks difficult or impossible, allowing the drinker to continue necessary work without impairment or setting back their recovery through overexertion.

The brewing process for Elixir of Temporary Duplication has many steps involving boiling, distilling, and combining the various ingredients. Notably, many of the dry ingredients must be mixed as a powder—and spend multiple days in a dry powdered state—before being added to any liquids.

The overall process takes roughly thirteen days at minimum, with longer time required for larger batches. This time takes into account both consistent, around-the-clock work and periods of time spent allowing the ingredients to rest. Often, due to the time-sensitive nature of some components, both work and resting periods must occur at the same time.

During the final combination and distilling step, an orange-black sludge is produced. This sludge can be kneaded into olive oil and powdered mouse teeth, left to sit for three days, and mixed with water as an alternative means of producing Numbing Oil.
