Kirkwall Gates

The Kirkwall Gates are a strategic point along the river where the thick jungle prevents most overland travel to and from the city of Watun. The Gates are two heavily fortified towers, one on each side of the river, with a chain net spanning across the river and a lock system that bar any easy passage. There are small docks on either side of the lock and this point is usually well staffed as they are the only stopping place along the Lleno river.
The towers are made of heavy stone and stand roughly 40 feet tall with no windows or other openings on its sides, the only obvious defensive location is the parapet at the top of each tower. Both towers have heavy metal doors and look like they are ready for a siege at any moment.
There is a small trade market as the lands in and around the jungle are perfect for farming certain crops, primarily wine grapes. these grapes are then sent up river to be turned into wine in Watun.
There are 4 "shops"; 

• Volto's Place - the General Store / Inn and Tavern
• The Blue Serpent - the Blacksmith
• The Gutted Grape - the Grocer
• Fish Hooves - the Butcher

There are 3 warehouses that store goods to be sold/sent up or down the river. There are about a dozen homes scattered amongst the trees a short way from the "town center".
