Week One: Goal
It is my hope with this pledge, publicly acknowledging to whoever is paying attention, that I will be able to expand upon the organizations of the Leraghinaj region of the continent of Rashukh, on the world of Dhuraj. More particularly, I intend to focus on the religious sects and the political entities which accost, oppose, acknowledge, and support them. But of course, what good is it to know the ins and outs of a sketchy, backwater cult and the governments that seruptitiously support them without some historical context? Let's not skimp on that. Let's see if I can succeed, and keep my pledge, under threat of embarassement and disappointment.
Week Two: Focus
Worldember 2023 Mini-Meta...
Scope: Major and notable religious sects and relevent political entities within the Leraghinaj region of Rashukh, as well as relevent historical context.
Theme and Mood: The light and the darkness of the ecclesiastics of the Leraghinaj, and all that comes with it, from the most noble achievements to the most vile atrocities.
Week Three: Welcome
Just in time, I altered the theme to be more fitting to the vibe of the world, while also adding introductory text that hopefully gives just a little insight into Dhuraj.
Furthermore, this article has been moved to the Dhuraj world, which will hopefully make it a little more convenient to reach from here.
Week Four: Zero Hour
Again, just in time. I made sure to stock up on snacks and drinks, of course, though otherwise, most of what I have been doing is mentally preparing and trying to write notes about the subjects at hand. Other than that, it just comes down to a short wait until we begin.
End of Worldember
So, here we are... January. I got nothing published for Worldember, but it isn't a loss overall, as I do have thousands of words written still, just not up to my nitpicking standards for publishing. So with this in perspective, I would say that Worldember did what I had hoped it would do: give me some motivation to write.
I love writing political and religious backgrounds. I find them so interesting, and a really good way to learn more about the culture of the place I'm writing about. Have a great WorldEmber! :)
Thank you! I look forward to struggling through the heaps and heaps of discouragement, uncertainty, and perfectionist angst to see what's on the other side.
Oh no! If you need any encouragement and certainty, let me know! I can’t help you with the perfectionist angst, but am happy to cheer you on!
