D’erletztesøhn
Long before any life there was a Realm where many powerful gods and primordials existed. At some point they all revolted against a Dragon God which enslaved them all. The revolt was so strong that the mortal wounds were so grevious the Dragon God had to seek out a new Realm where it could recover from those wounds.
That Realms is this realm. It was empty outside of some magical flotsam and jetsam -- remnants of the magical weave which once existed here, remnants of the gods that once resided here. He created his children and then a fiery shell to protect him as he recovers. Those who believe in this myth also claim that he recovers from every use of magic in this realm. That magic has rebuilt the destroyed weave from Toril (the world that resided here long ago) and the process of rebuilding that weave also releases more magic into the Realm, like a nuclear chain reaction and as the planets circle the sleeping form of D’erletztesøhn it funnels that energy into the sleeping dragon.
This myth has some support based on how the last awakening of the Dragon That Slumbers in Dierde was due to too many gods and their power being present here. It convinced that dragon god his father was healed.
