The weave is where all magic originates, for the most part. The amazing thing about the Weave is that as magic is "pulled" from it none is actually taken from the weave, instead, the pulled magic is released into the world and will try to return to the Weave.
The Weave here was originally (according to legend) from the last world, Torill. When @D’erletztesøhn first came here the Weave was ripped to sunders. Its remnants were part of the flotsam and jetsom found in this empty Realm.
The creation of the "Solar System" began a mechanism to 'funnel' the weave into healing the ailing dragon god. It funnels all the power of the weave and what it can from the four elemental planes along with every other plane that connects to this Realm.
Except that doesn't seem to be totally true. There seem to be many little things stealing that flow, slowing the healing process and as long as D’erletztesøhn is unaware it shall stop him and his offspring from sending avatars to investigate.
The original Weave was controlled by Mystryl (and other successors). As the Realm of Dierde was forming the Weave began to rebuild itself and in the first strands there were the tiny shadow spiders which began to rebuild the weave.
These shadow spiders were new "form" of Mystryl coming from the shadowweave side of the Weave.
Mystryl had made some rules about magic... not all of those actually exist here (yet).
