Faerie
A grouping of planar spheres encompassing a reality adjacent to Earth. Owing to Earth's many sources of magic, these realms took up home next to Earth's Feywild. The realm of Faerie is an amalgam of the realms of Álfheimr, Otherworld, the Fortunate Isles, Tír na nÓg, and Avalon.
The Faerie itself is known as the Void, or Abyss, and is an area, to those of the lands, beyond Arda's atmosphere which existed before the creation of Eä.
History
Eru Ilúvatar dwelt in the Timeless Halls, which were separate from the Void but his realm was that of the Faerie. Before the creation of Eä inside the Void, Melkor searched the Void thoroughly for the Flame Imperishable, the source of Eru's creative power, but was unsuccessful. It is believed that many creatures originated in the Void due to the discords in the Music of the Ainur caused by Melkor. Later, after his defeat in the War of Wrath, Morgoth was cast out through the Door of Night into the Void, but legends predicted his return before the Dagor Dagorath, at the end of time. The Wizard Gandalf, after his revival into Gandalf the White, told cryptically of his experience passing through the Void after his death on Zirakzigil.
