Freedom Society Log:
The recollection given all accounts-
The day after The Answer had left, the city was still in a bit of a chaotic state, with the bridges still blown and the people of the city still nervous and scared, with some of the more immoral members of the city taking advantage of the chaos and the fact that the cities police force was separated and stretched thin. This left both the The Freedom Society and the police quite busy as they did their best the maintain the peace.
During this time, Man-Dragon, who recently came to Freedom City after hearing about The Freedom Society the rumor that one of them could use magic, was wandering around at night trying to stay hidden when he heard a scream in the distance. Rushing towards the scream, he found a woman being mugged by a pair of men in an alleyway. Unsure at first what to do, as the woman continued to scream for help, he steeled himself and rushed in to try and save her, yelling "Let her go!". As the muggers and the woman turned to the voice, they saw the monstrous appearance of Man-Dragon.
With a scream of terror, the woman broke free and ran away into the dark streets. With fear in their eyes, the two muggers pulled out their guns and started firing at Man-Dragon. With luck, almost all of the shots missed, except for one bullet that found its way into the shoulder of Man-Dragon. With a roar of pain, a cone of dark fire leapt from Man-Dragon's mouth, engulfing the two men in front of him. As they screamed and burned, Man-Dragon held onto his bleeding shoulder. A few seconds later, the streets were quite except for the sound of a crackling flame. Looking up, Man-Dragon saw that his flame breath had caught onto the apartment building behind the robbers, and was quickly spreading along the wall. Without hesitation, Man-Dragon began trying to put out the flames, but it was too much and too late. The building was on fire. Running to the front of the building, he shoved his way inside, yelling as loud as he could that the building was on fire. As people awoke to the sound of his yells, they peaked out of their doors trying to figure out what was going on. As those on the lower floor looked into the hallway, they saw the monstrous image of Man-Dragon, before quickly shutting and locking their doors in fear. Continuing to bang on the doors and yell about the fire Man-Dragon continued up the apartment building, not realizing the fear that he was causing. In all the commotion, Man-Dragon did not hear the sound of sirens approaching. By now, the flames had made their way inside the building, the air starting to become thick with smoke. Those on the lower floor, in fear for their lives, ran out of their apartments and out onto the streets, were the police, and a certain group of heroes, had just arrived. Outside, the people screamed about a monster that was destroying their home, while inside people began to wake to the smell of smoke and a voice yelling "FIRE!". As all this was going on, the fire continued to grow larger.
Without hesitation, those among the heroes that could fit through the door rushed into the building, some ready to stop this monster, others focused on evacuating the rest of the people from the building. As the heroes made their way further into the building, they quickly realized that if they wished to save those trapped by the fire, it would take all of them working together. And work together they did, using all of their powers to save those trapped inside and slow the fire as much as they could, escorting people out of the building before rushing back inside to save more.
As the fire raged on, from one corner of the building where the fire was strongest, a deafening crack split the night, and the building started the shake. With a loud "thump thump thump" a hero in a metal suit rushed into the flames, grabbing onto the burning building, holding it up with all his strength. After a moment the building stopped shaking. It would hold, for now.
At the top floor of the building, Man-Dragon was doing his best to try and get the those that lived upstairs to evacuate. His attempts were in vain though, as the people locked themselves in their apartments upon seeing him. As Man-Dragon continued to plead, a lone hero dressed in a military uniform made his way up to the top floor, and saw Man-Dragon. Without a moments hesitation he rushed towards him, ready to do battle with this monster and punish it for what it had done. With a running start, his fist connected solidly with the Man-Dragon's jaw, sending him back onto the ground. Standing up, Man-Dragon tried to plead with the hero, but was cut short as he barely dodged another punch. Hearing the commotion outside their doors, the people inside peeked out watching as Soldier fought with Man-Dragon. Seeing their chance to escape, they took it, running down the stairs and into the rest of the heroes, who quickly helped them escape the burning building. Upstairs the fight continued, Soldier throwing punch after punch and Man-Dragon doing his best to dodge them. With some luck, Man-Dragon had managed to avoid most of Soldier's strikes, but those that hit struck hard. As the rest of the heroes ran back into the burning building to assist their partner, the building began shaking once more.
Man-Dragon, seeing that Soldier would not listen to him, turned and ran to the window at the end of the hallway. Leaping through the glass, he spread his wings and took flight, before a heavy object collided with him. Soldier had leapt through the window after him, and had grabbed onto his leg.
Just as Soldier had leapt out of the building, the shaking grew stronger, until with a loud "CRACK", the building collapsed into a pile of fiery rubble.
Seeing what had just happened, a murderous look fell upon Soldier's face. With a powerful punch, Soldier brought his fist against the monster's face., again and again. In a dazed panic, Man-Dragon swiped at Soldier, his claws slicing across his face. Caught by surprise, Soldier lost his grip and began to fall towards the burning remains of the building. Shaking the daze out of his head, Man-Dragon looked down to see Soldier falling to his doom. Without a moments hesitation, he dove down to him, trying to catch him before he met a grisly end. But it was too late. Soldier fell, the flames engulfing him.
Hovering in the night sky, obscured by the smoke and the darkness, Man-Dragon heard a soul crushing wail, as the hero known as Ms. Citizen fell to her knees.
In the cover of darkness, Man-Dragon flew off, his mind heavy with the events that had just transpired.
