Mana Charge

Mana Charge, or MC, is the amount of electricity any carried Mana Batteries hold for use with magic technology (aka magitech), including power armor. Since it is used for electricity, all mana used in mana batteries must be White mana, and any other color must be converted to white mana. In the event one is within the astral plane, which is suffused with indigo (raw) mana, the color automatically converts, but on the material plane, it must be manually converted. If mana of any color other than white or indigo is used, it effectively counts for only half a point of charge.   The amount of maximum MC a character can effectively utilize is equal to [Intellect + Spirit + Luck + Proficiency bonus] plus what any auxiliary batteries add, though they must be carrying a Mana Core in their inventory (it doesn't need to be equipped). If they do not possess a mana core, then only the sum of auxiliary batteries are counted, otherwise, it is 0.   Characters recharge MC during a rest, provided there is enough mana present and there are no interruptions. For every 5 minutes of rest, 1 white or indigo mana is converted into 1 MC. If neither color is present, 10 minutes is required to convert one mana of another color into 1 MC. Typically a short rest lasts 1 hour and a long rest lasts 8 hours. There are abilities that can hasten this recharge rate, or allow recharging on the fly, usually known by tinkers and sentinels.
