Sahra, the northernmost part of Paneuropa, deep inside the Sunlands, is where the Diedrich Family developed a massive solar panel installation, collecting the energy that powers the whole continent. As no electronic circuits are able to function, circuit-independent electricity is the only option.
The Sahra installation is the most significant infrastructure in Paneuropa, since one of the most important services provided by the Hellios Conglomerate is charging and distributing batteries throughout the remaining world. The attack on Sahra was the most aggressive move the
Subhumans ever made against the Softskins, as they call the ordinary people. Being able to delve into the Sunlands like no other human beings allowed them to effortlessly take control of the relatively small force protecting the installation.
Their true objective was never revealed, as they neither had demands nor use for the electricity. It is thought that they were driven by territorial instincts, claiming and marking their land. It was only through the deployment of their airship force that Hellios was able to drive the Subhumans away, inflicting a critical blow on their numbers.
They didn’t try another large-scale attack ever since.
