Automatons

Automatons, also known as Robots, Constructs, or Golems, is the umbrella term given to all manner of artificially created constructs that primarily exist to perform a specific function outlined by their creator. Through highly varied methods, they are given facsimiles of other hallmark traits of sentients by their creators, such as artificial organs, decision making, and problem solving.
In extremely rare circumstances, independent function may be sophisticated and complex enough to be classified as their own sentient species.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Being made of artificial parts, they have no true "anatomy" so to speak. Instead their makeup is crafted by whatever engineer designed them and very different methods and components have been used throughout the centuries.

Genetics and Reproduction

A major distinction between Automatons and nearly every other sentient, is their inability to naturally reproduce to make "young". Genetics also do not exist in their "physiology".
Alternatively, a very small amount automatons will mimic the process through comparative ceremonies.
