Dinturiy

Dinturiy is the main language spoken throughout Dindeyyin. Only the most closed off communities don’t speak it in some form.

History

Not much is known about the history of Dinturiy. The language originated in Celetarii tribes of Dintral in the Omnatuo era. As Dintral Society became more structured during the start of the S'tao era, the language became more refined, and was eventually spread as the Dintrals began to travel.

Writing System

Dinturiy has quite a few scripts, most are region specific. The main one it uses is known as Merchant Turiy, which is derived from Celetarii Calligraphy. The script became widely used when merchants from Celetarii simplified the complex calligraphy of their home, spreading it across Dindeyyin   Merchant Turiy consists of mostly curved lines, with the vowels being either dashes or dots connected to the constanants.

Phonetic Rules

A few constonants in Dinturiy cannot be on the end of a word unless connected to the vowel before. (eg, Dinturiy is allowed, but not Dinturi'y.) These letters are:
Y, J, B, H, V, F.

Tenses

The tense is indicated by the vowel in the generic verb① (to do, to be)
o = Present tense, eg. po, do a = Past tense, eg. pa, da iy /ii = Future tense, eg. Piy, diy /pii dii

Sentence Structure

In Dinturiy, the pronoun joins on the end of the verb.
ex. I eat food --> eatI do food --> düluSe po sa'ti'ru
With names there is a space in between.

ex. Suru writes --> writes Suru does --> Juroy Suru po
When someone is doing something to or for someone, the person receiving the action goes first

ex. I hunt you --> you huntI does --> Ke falkarSe po
They give Karako a snack --> snack Karako giveThey does --> koy'ey Karako darutuTe po To say someone is something, the name/pronoun also joins the end of the vowel or adjective.
ex. You are a dintral --> DintralYou are --> DintralaKe do
Urum is a tomoatral --> tomoatral Urum is —> tomoatral Urum do
Depending on the ending of the word, the 'a' sound will be placed in between the verb and the pronoun. This also applies to nouns and adjectives
Letters this applies to:
R, L, K, G, V,
In the case of the ending letter being the same as the starting letter of the pronoun, the 'a' will always be added.

Adjective Order

Similar to verbs, the pronoun joins the end of the adjective.
ex.
they (s) are cute --> cuteThey are --> petüte do   When using names instead, there is a space between the name and adjective.
ex.
Haltou is funny --> funny Haltou is --> Esaye Haltou do
