Discordia

A world guarded under the watchful gaze of entities known as the fates that strive to provide balance to a world always teetering on the edge of being annihilated by both the light and the dark. Gods wage wars to tip the balance. Devils corrupt mortals to enact their biddings. The Void ever-threatening to break through and envelop the world.   With mortals caught in the middle, they are thrown into the conflicts not only with themselves, but also with the higher beings who wish to take control of Discordia. In times of crisis, the fates cast favor on select mortals to help restore order in Discordia, by fighting against whatever rising tide has began to take hold. These champions have proved pivotal in shaping the landscape of Discordia etching several of them into legend with plenty others vanishing into nothing.   Discordia as it stands has found itself at a standstill and what can be considered to be relative peace. Kingdoms stir and struggle against each other, mortals deal with their daily strife, and the wilds lay at rest. But this peace can not and will not hold for long, and forces will begin to move to upset the balance, or perhaps they have already began, and the Fates are already hard at work to restore what has been broken.
