the flying circus
And now for something completely different.
There are few vehicles that makes people stop and look in awe, but the flying circus is one of them. It is one of the few funcioning vehicles remaining from the age of the Antediluvian.
It has been described as a mix of a bird with fixed wings and a ship powered by the humm of storms as it moved across the landscape. It is not entirely clear how its powersource works and controlling the vehicle has been described as more difficult than reasonable, leading to speculation that the Antediluvian were controlling it in a different way. One oddity that has been noted is that it seems unable to cross any kind of significant waterway.
Even though a lot of the original construction has been left unaltered, a concession to the nature of what it is supposed to represent has been made by cladding it with colourful banners, flags and art made of cloth.
It can't carry a lot of weight, limiting the performers to large sun sails and very few props wherever they go. This has shaped the permormance that can be given, now consisting of various acts, such as trapeze, music, dancing, tightrope walking. Often the vehicle itself is part of the act or demonstrations when it comes to a settlement.
During the War of Misunderstanding it was used as a way to quickly scout areas, but it's limited capacity made it not very useful in direct conflict. When the war ended the crew decided it should be used to cheer people up, so they put together a crew of artistic performers and started touring the continent. this was sanctioned by the Ven'Ir at the beginning at later on it was completely released from the government, under the stipulation that it, and its crew would help in times of crisis.
