Wardani

Kowledge can only be transmitted with language, and yet language is based on knowledge.

The Wardens of Knowledge have long known that language is the key to knowledge. In order to better protect knowledge the Exhalted Few developed their own spoken and written cypher.

The spoken cypher was initially just Venna with a few words that had changed meaning, but it very quickly became its own language. This rapid change never slowed as the Exhalted Few were afraid that it could be decoded by wary listeners.

The written cypher is more commonly known and has changed just as much as the spoken version over the years. The biggest difference compared to the spoken cypher is that the written one changes a lot in chunks as the cypher is deemed no longer secure and is updated at the same time among all who know it.

The total amount of people who are proficient with either one is less than one hundred. Only one of the two is known by most people, with the Exhalted Few being the only ones who know both at the same time. The authority to teach the either one of the cyphers is tightly regulated and the punishment for spreading it and for knowing it without authorisation is severe.

Writing System

The alphabet is mostly the same as in Venna, but with a few additions in order to convey common information in a very short way, essentially acting as abbreviations. These are about evenly taken from Alni and made up in the style of Venna. Whichever method of creation is used is mostly determined by the person creating it.
