As the Good Friday agreement was left void when the European Union fell apart, the tensions of The Troubles have erupted again since. Due to the choatic situation in Northern Ireland, neither Ireland nor the U.K. currently hold de facto control over the territory, and de jure only the U.K. current lays claim to it.
The exclave of Gibraltar fell back to Spain in the late 2010s.
