Crimson "Cog" Cogsward

Cog grew up in a small coastal village in the Lhazaar Principalities. He was always a loner and had a hot temper, often getting into fights with other children over minor disagreements. Despite this, he was devoted to the teachings of the goddess Hestia, who was widely worshipped in his village.
When he was a teenager, Cog's village was raided by pirates. The pirates killed many of the villagers, including Cog's parents, and took the rest captive to be sold as slaves. Cog was one of the few who managed to escape, but he was deeply traumatized by the experience.
He wandered the coastal towns and cities for several years, taking odd jobs and trying to forget the horrors he had witnessed. But he was always drawn back to the sea, and eventually he decided to become a sailor himself. He joined a merchant vessel and worked hard, quickly rising through the ranks with his natural aptitude for combat.
However, his violent tendencies often got the best of him, and he was known to get into brawls with other sailors and even officers. One night, after a particularly brutal fight, he was approached by a group of pirates who had been watching him. They offered him a place on their ship, promising him riches and adventure.
Cog was tempted by the offer, but he knew that piracy was frowned upon by Hestia's followers. He agonized over the decision for several days, praying for guidance. Finally, he decided that he would join the pirates, but only with the intention of sabotaging their plans and bringing them to justice.
He joined the crew of the Wormwood under false pretenses, pretending to be a seasoned pirate. He quickly made enemies among the crew with his hot temper and tendency to steal from the ship's stores. He is still waiting for the right opportunity to betray the pirate crew and bring them to justice for their crimes.
