Samenvatting sessie 5
Warmup roleplay question:
What is your characters favourite season?
-Elkyria: Spring! It's just so nice and beautiful out.
-Morkairon: Winter, because potions won't spoil as fast and there are extra dead people who are also nicely kept in prime conditions for harvesting
Emanon: Summer, because the boys can swim in the river without freezing to death, meaning they can also finally clean themselves!
This was a very combat heavy session:
It started with the players being shot at by the drider also known as the "spiderbitch" from the top of the amphitheater where we left last session, with mr. Tak Forgefoot getting hit to near death but graciously being healed by Elkyria. After two rounds of firing arrows and seeing the party head inside, the drider slid away to the back of the amphitheater. Tak saw that as his Queue to take care of the camels and find some place safe, whilst the party headed into the desert dungeon.
The first room consisted of some obvious scorpions which were swiftly dealt with. The less obvious scorpions got a good few bites in on Morkarion's legs, before being obliterated by a psychotic kid that learned to play with fire. This psychotic kid playing with fire became a recurring theme, as he set some webs blocking the way on fire which prompted a giant spider accompanied by 2 smaller ones to come out. This spider went down swinging, managing to restrain the already hurt Morkairon, but not managing to get in much of a follow up before being burned to death. The first small spider was burned to death too. The last spider managed to dodge this fate, instead being catapulted and blasted into a thousand tiny pieces by a lethal agonizing blast. A bit of farming of monster parts and webbing later the party moved through the cleared hallway,
Morkairon lead the way behind Erifno using his detect magic vision. Here in the pitch black the party came upon a room which had something magical inside, and was filled with (fake) gold and some spider traps, dubbed spider chicks, which were promptly set off all at once by Elkyria with a fun thaumaturgy. This happened after she had also "dealt with" the door in a similar fashion. The riddle that only she was able to read in elvish consisted of the following statement "Show me only wealth." in combination with a raven head statue looking directly at the words engraved into the stone. After some attempts at creative solutions Elkyria stumbled upon the answer, simply covering all the text but the word "wealth" did the trick and opened a passage to the next room.
In the room the spider bitch awaited, and a heavy combat ensued. Morkairon hitting the single digits of health multiple times, but Elkyria coming up clutch with the healing. Emanon and Erifno lead the front line, pestering the female drider with acid damage, more firebolts and clever positioning she was finally forced to flee. She did so by using a magical darkness centered on her. The party gave chase as far as they could, as the drider fled down a gaping hole in the ground next to an altar. Using high level mathematics (the Pythagoras theorem, it's useful i swear!) Morkairon managed to get in a final Shatter on max range, leaving it uncertain whether this drider got out dead or alive...
Tune in next session to see what else is hiding deep below this ancient, abandoned, desert amphitheater!
