Police declared their prime suspect is the husband, but evidence has yet to be found. According to records released to the public, Mr. Ahimoth reported the bodies late on the evening of December 13th, 2016. Mr. Ahimoth reported blood had covered the floors, furniture, and walls of his living room. Upon investigating, the police found minimal blood, most of it convening around the bodies, in the room and an absence of a weapon. The bodies appeared to be flayed and somewhat shredded. Forensics reportedly found no DNA on the bodies. The police soon came to the conclusion that the father had probably done it. Mr. Ahimoth’s statement in reply was as follows: “I was out for the evening and I didn’t see the bloody scene until I got home.” During our interview, Mr. Ahimoth began to recall his fond memories of his wife and son, expressing his undying thankfulness for his young daughter’s safety. His eighth-year-old daughter had been in her room during the attack.
“I didn’t hear anything in the house until my papa came home. I heard the door open and shut. Then my papa put his keys down. Then it was really really quiet... and then I heard papa scream. That's when I started to run down the stairs, but my papa stopped me. He said I shouldn’t go in the living room because it was scary. I remember it smelt really bad downstairs.” stated the young girl.
Though they miss their deceased family members, Mr. Ahimoth and his daughter are both thankful they still have each other.
