Palus (Pa-lus)

The city of Palus is a swampland surrounded by a massive wall with smaller wooden gates and a giant alligator skull at the south gate. The city has a small population of people around 4500, and most live in the swampland outside the city. The town was built on the swamps and bogs that are called the

Swamps of Lutulentus. These swamps can offer a great strategic position as in they are hard to navigate yet makes commerce and trading routs hard to maintain. The most important activity in the city is the collection of medicinal and poisonous plants that can be found only in this unique ecosystem, which are then used to make potions and poisons. There are very few metals in the city, and therefore it is easier to obtain a Potion of strength or a Potion of healing rather than a lump or iron. The city is ruled by a few families who live close to the center of the city. Near the east gate of the city still stands a large manor also known as the Pottio's Mansion which belongs to the Pottio, the Masters of potions. They are also the patrons and owners of the Ierbarium since their founding father Harold Pottio established it with the creation of the city. The inhabitants of the city called Palusians, are living a quiet life, and many of them wander through the swamps trying to earn a living by hunting or foraging.
