"At last," the Seven said in unison, "Our haven is complete!"
These words were immediately received with loud cheers and applause. "Through this, we shall no longer be beholden to the whims of our countries, we shall no longer be shackled to the heritage of our earthly halves." The gathering of starchildren, despite their excitement, would fall silent whenever the Seven spoke. It would seem the Pleiades were to be given the utmost attention whenever they demanded it.
"We have all worked very hard towards this goal, and our heavenly mother, Astra herself, is surely applauding our year-long effort as we speak. This is a momentous occasion. And we, as your leaders, would like to personally thank all of you, for making our dream a reality." The audience waited with bated breath for the words they had strived for during the entire previous year of contruction. The next words the Pleiades spoke sent the crowd into an uproar.

The independent city-state of Astrothesia is a young settlement, only having existed for almost fifteen years. However, this haven for the children of Astra - the Astrians - has thrived beyond imagining, becoming a respected part of the world to many.

Structure

The Pleiades are the highest power in the city, and the main governing body. The city has various vital departments, such as law enforcement and medicinal services, but they are all subservient to the Pleiades.

Public Agenda

Astrothesia exists as a haven for Astrians who seemingly have no home, no direction, and no purpose, as well as those who simply wish to be among their own kind. The city was put in place to give the race their own agency beyond those of the various societies they were born into.

Assets

In the short time the city has been in existence, it has become the world's primary exporter of Starsteel, a highly valuable metal that can only be created by Solar Dwarves. In addition, through unknown means, the Pleiades had amassed a sizable sum of gold and other assets in order to create the settlement. The city has its own admittedly small militia consisting of well-trained Astrian warriors.

History

It is unknown when exactly the Pleiades themselves were born. Their actions prior to the founding of Astrothesia are also shrouded in mystery. However, Astrothesia was founded at high noon on the 28th day of the month of Zolmense, in the year 2486. It has thrived ever since.

Demography and Population

The population of Astrothesia is almost entirely composed of approximately 9,000 Astrians. While people of other races are not forbidden from the city, and can even be allowed to take up residence, they are dwarfed in number by the primary Astrian population, as was the intent of the city's creation. As for the subraces of Astrians, they are fairly evenly distributed relative to their rarity. Solarans are the most common sight, followed by a fair number of Red Giants and Solar Dwarves, followed by a slightly lower number of Blackstars and Silverlings.
