Basic Information
Anatomy
A perennial flowering evergreen plant with black and white colored berries. The oppositely arranged leaves are pinnate with 5–9 leaflets. Each leaf is 2 to 10 inches long, and the leaflets have serrated margins. They bear large clusters of small blue flowers in early spring, these are followed by clusters of small black and white berries. All aspects of the plant are toxic except for ripe cooked berries.

Berry's grow on the 2nd year's growth and onward. Grows from 5 to 10 feet tall and 3 to 7 feet across.

Although wide ranging and living in subarctic to tropical regions, this plant is still quite rare.

Water and nutrients are absorbed through the branching root system and energy is equally put into growth and reproduction. Berries will grow on the 2nd and successive years. Enjoys full sun to full shade and is drought and flood resistant.
Biological Cycle
Plant grows slowly from seeds. Each year the plant grows 1 foot taller than the previous year. New growth begins in the spring and berries grow through all seasons. Specific fruiting times are still a mystery as once a berry develops, it continues to live on the plant until picked, sometimes for years.

Uses, Products & Exploitation
One serving of berries will restore one hit point of health. When concentrated into a juice form (Spirit Juice), one serving of juice will restore one full hit die of health based on the consumers class. With the exception of the berries, all other parts of the plant are extremely toxic.
