Steel Raven
"Steel Raven"
Commonly called "A Black Raven"
A black coated steel coin depicting a Raven on one side and the coat of arms of the ruling family on the other. The black coating prevents the coin from corrosion. These are often traded and melted and reforged into arms and armor. A single coin is valued at 20 cp or 2 sp or 2/5 ep or 1/5 gp or 1/50 pp. It is worth twice the value in its home kingdom and five times as much in regions of the world devoid of metals and iron ore.
Manufacturing process
Iron ore is processed to remove the iron and then turned into steel. The steel is drawn out into long, round bars that are cut to the specified coin sizes. The coins are then stamped and coated with a protective black material.
