The Fireball Shot
The Fireball Shot is a very hot and spicy drink that is set on fire and served to the bravest or the most foolish. Named after the famous spell of the same title, this shot has a swirling, glowing orange-red appearance with flames on top and a burning, peppery smell. Few can recount what it exactly tastes like as the great heat quickly distracts the patron from the strong flavor.
Manufacturing process
To prepare this drink first add 1 dash of pulped, fermented Hellmouth peppers and 1 dash of Abyssal Blackroot. Then add a half ounce of spiced, hot cinnamon extract. Layer over with 1 full ounce of overproofed, spiced Hellmouth Red Rum. Sprinkle in a pinch of finely ground pepper corns. Finally set drink aflame and serve quickly.
Significance
This drink is most popular among young wizards and apprentices. Although they are not yet capable of casting the coveted Fireball spell, they can live vicariously through this impactful drink.
While several variations of the Fireball drinking game exist, most usually involve the drink as an initiation into their clique or as a veteran to the game challenging a novice.
Initiations are usually short and consist of members buying Fireball shots for the new member. They often try to see how many Fireballs the apprentice can withstand. Typically acceptable numbers are usually one shot per member given to the newbie. This number may be lowered significantly based on the size of the membership.
Challenges however, can become just as dangerous as fighting with real fireball spells. Although they can occur between friends, they often take place between two rivals wizards or groups of wizards. In this case each wizard or group will take turns not just ordering drinks for their rivals, but targeting specific individuals who will have to drink all of the targeting shots. Members are allowed to intercept the shot and drink it for their teammate. Any wizard who is incapacitated or chooses to retreat must immediately leave the bar and the remaining members must continue on until one side is victorious. No matter the outcome, all sides keep the challenge a secret from their masters.
