Only we few must stand against this, for all others would go mad.Last recorded words of Krunga Triscion before he disappeared into the nightmare dark Fort Flickering Light is one of the oldest military instillation in Veren. Dating back to the Was of Necessary conquest the venerable fort was constructed by Kazor Clan to protect the empire from apocalyptic threat. Although, the dwarves of Kazor defend the over world, the true nature of the threat is kept secret. The outpost is constantly beset by the terrors in the Nightmare dark, and the twisted creatures that call the plethora of cave systems home. Every legionarrie posted there is loyal to Kazor Clan, and is sworn to secrecy under pain of death. The outpost is supplied weekly. Fresh legions are on constant rotation for the depths are known to even tax adapted psychology of the dwarves.

History
While the Wars of Necessary conquest raged on the surface, the dwarves of Kazor Clan attempted to tame the world beneath. They fought their way across the great darkness; a trail of death in their wake. Their conquest, abruptly halted at the discovery of an ancient mine shaft. They sent 200 dwarves into that cave. Sent down in the consuming darkness, the dwarves thought they were prepared for anything. Three day's passed, and finally a response. endless screams from their fallen comrades marched into the ear's of the legionnaires.
In response, the entire legion marched down into those sightless depths, and fought unnameable horrors. The war did not go well for the dwarves, eventually electing to fortify the mine shaft; the legion remains at a constant vigil, ensuring that monstrosity never surfaces.
