Republics of Dominion
The Continent of Dominion is divided between separate ruling bodies called Republics. Each governs themselves, with their own laws, values, beliefs and rules. In total there are six republics and one Kingdom, that of Dragonstone and its ruler Apothus.
Dominion was once two divided kingdoms, the "Seven Cities" Which were governed briefly by their ruling king, Elrich the Unending. He ruled the lands from Gurt to Swordhill as king, and all the cities followed his commands. On the night the city of Elrichshire burned, and Apothus proved he once again was the only true king of the land, no one was brave enough to take the mantle Elrich had claimed and the cities became their own united, but independent, lands.
This has some benefits, such as if you are wanted in one Republic you wont be wanted in another, though bounty hunters can move between cities and still track you down. Within each Republic all small towns lie under the banner of their ruling city, and each city is ruled by a Lord or Lady.
Below is a list of the Six Republics of Dominion, as well as the kingdom of Dragonstone. You will find a list of all places ruled by each republic, as well as any information that may be important to know about them.

INDEPENDANT LANDS
Elderwood Island
Elderwood Island is home of the Elderwood Tree, and is supposedly home to the only way in or out of the Faewilds in the realm. The island itself is hostile to most who come but is welcoming to Rangers and Druids. Many come here to honor the natural world and the old gods who bore it before the Veil pierced Mystas. It is also a ridden land of terrible magic power which pollutes any who touch its waters with mutagenic magical energy.Mystwatch Island
An ancient structure that predates any recorded histories, the island of Mystwatch is entirely engulfed by a strange tower shrouded in a never fading mist. It is believed that the location was built over Ridden Waters on a small spec of land which like the Elderwood Sanctuary is a protected Veil portal to other realms and realities. Which ones though no one knows for sure. All who venture to Mystwatch in search of answers, never return.Starcross
High in the mountains to the north lies the snowy plateau of the giants. Starcross is a city only accessible by airship and only those from Valoren itself, the only city allowed to trade with the giants there. Starcross is the home of the Cloud Giants who run the ships to and from the city, but the Plateau is also home to the Storm giants who have been rivals of the Cloud Giants for ages. They are often at war and fighting for control of the city. The skies between Valoren and Starcross are also the territory of Dragons, Beasts and the mysterious Sky Pirates.Oldvale
Oldvale is a town completely devoted to Apothus and all who worship the Godking are welcome there. There isn't much else to say about Oldvale and the only reason anyone visits is to trade dinosaurs and use them for sport. If that's your thing and you dig Dragons too, you'll love it here.Styr's Isle
A strange ancient island that has been abandoned for centuries, yet none have claimed it either. It is believed to be a haunted land filled with monsters and more specifically... vampires.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
