The Bloodline Project of Archmage Roderigo Barrin and Nicolo Nero was originally undertaken in order to determine whether or not some of the powers of divinity could be bred into lifeforms by combining certain species and particular rituals. It was an effort to avoid the sorts of contracts that the powers of Atlantis had been compelled to sign in order to assure their escape from the cataclysm that destroyed their native archipelago.
