Dragons
Dragons are almost more of a myth than a truth.
Among the old species they talk about dragon as large, magical snake or lizard-like creatures. In many of the older cultures dragons are spoken about as messengers of the gods or even gods themselves with powers to change the weather, seasons and create catastrophes and so on.
The ancient species, like the Central Lizards on Central Island, often see dragons as their ancestors. They have legends that speak about how they came to be so small and lost their magical powers
Even though their existence is disputed they still symbolize power and magic in a large portion of the known world. Especially among the old and ancient species.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The true anatomy of dragons isn't fully known. Experts have made educated guesses with the help of a few large bones/skeletons and fossils found throughout the world.
Most of them have an elongated slender body, up to six (6) legs/limbs, long tail and a head full of sharp teeth.
A couple of the specimens found have wings but those have had a far smaller body than those found without wings.
Genetics and Reproduction
Dragons are believed to lay eggs. Even though not a lot of evidence for this has been found it is still the leading theory.
One reason to why this is the leading theory is the claim from the central lizards that dragons are their ancestors and that they lay eggs themselves as part of their reproduction.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
In the various myths and tales about dragons they can make it rain, clear the skies from clouds, create thunderstorms and poison the air and a host of other, both good and bad, things.
A lot of it is believed by experts to be exaggerations.
EXTINCT
Conservation Status
Dragons are believed to be extinct. A lot of the population (majority modern species) in the highly developed cities are skeptical that dragons ever existed. They claim dragons are just overgrown lizards.
