Manastorms

A relatively rare phenomenon, Manastorms occur when converging leylines in the area flare up with magical flux. This outputs a large cloud that appears to be a brewing thunderstorm, but lightning strikes from these clouds are even rarer than the storms themselves. Areas the manastorm casts their shadows on are subject to wild magic, leaving spellcasters at the whims of nature itself if they attempt to cast magic in the area.
Their path, at least, is predictable; it's always a straight line from one convergence to another, at which point it rapidly disperses. When one approaches, The Scaleborn College almost always puts out a city-wide notice showing the path of the manastorm, so as to limit the destruction one may inadvertently cause.
