The Lurid Dancer
The oldest inn in the city, the Lurid Dancer has been burned down, smashed, flooded, foreclosed, raided, flooded (with booze this time), and more, but always bounces back. It's the slummiest, most run-down hub of scum and villainy in the city, but also the most riotously fun party spot for anyone; whatever you need in Doreymos, you can find it here, or find someone to find it for you.
Purpose / Function
The Lurid Dancer still serves its primary purpose thoroughly, that of an inn. It provides food, drink, friends, and warm beds for a bit of coin. Additionally, over the years, it has grown in a variety of roles. Primarily, it brews its own alcohol, and is frequently the only place in the city to get access to these special drinks. Additionally, it has become a well-known watering hole for mercenaries, and is a common place to come to looking for work of varying levels of legality. Lastly, it's rumored that there's many fences operating out of the inn, although it's just as likely that there's a sting operation there as well.
Architecture
As a repeated survivor of catastrophe after catastrophe, the Lurid Dancer has a barely cohesive architectural style. Parts of it are made of dark wood, many bits are crooked. At least one wall is metal-plated, with another made of stone. The extra floors are askew and practically thrown together, although it's structurally sound (so far). The interior is a bit more orderly, with shelves, benches, tables, and whatnot all mostly carved from the same wood. Ultimately, the state of the Lurid Dancer much reflects that of Doreymos; a lot of disparate pieces working together to make something fairly competent.
