New Dawn Festival

An annual festival by The Church of the Eternal Dawn leading up to the summer solstice in celebration of the beginning of the Age of Dawn and the Kingdom of Eloir's established.   The festival is structured to be held across three days, each commemorating a specific part of the how the The Age of Dusk came to end and give way to the current Age of Dawn.

Day of Dusk

The first day of festivities. Used a chance to give consideration to how harsh life was during the Age of Dusk and how few lived to see its end. How exactly this is done has varied over the years, but a common ceremony for recent years has been for an effigy made from wood and twisted branches to be erected and burned in the town's square while the local priest gives a prayer over it in remembrance of those who lost their lives during the Dusk.

Day of Harvest

The second day of the festival, symbolizing the arrival of Edmund the Wise and his efforts to rebuild the world. In honor of his legacy, a feast is held by the town with each house bringing a meal of their own to share as an act of community and fellowship.

Day of Dawn

The third and final day. This day of the festival is used to celebrate the prosperity that has come to the land since the Dusk's end. Performers dance and sing, often putting on plays recounting tales of Edmund the Wise and Eloir's establishment. Artisans display crafted charms inscribed with prayers to the gods or used to symbolize cherished memories and people.
