Coins
Overview
The monetary system of Dosjoryan humans. Simplified from a more complex system based on Iksen coinage.Description
Money in Dosjorya has three units: copper rounds, silver squares, and golden stars. 100 copper rounds equals 1 silver square. 1000 silver squares equals 1 golden star. Dosjoryans originally attempted to mint coins that were identical to the coins they were familiar with, consisting of many fractional denominations to break down a single cold coin. Leaders saw that the task of building a new civilization allowed for fundamental changes and their original coinage system was unnecessarily complex. This new system was considered simplistic yet caught on quickly. All Dosjoryan coins bear on one side the shape for which they are named. The other side bears a stylized shield resembling the one on Dosjoryan seals. Silver and gold coins are the came size and thickness. Copper coins are a little larger in diameter. Most coins in circulation are in rough shape save for gold coins, which are rarely used by the masses.
