Central Knights

The Central Knights, also known colloquially as the "Heart-Guard" of Dracolite, represent one of the kingdom's most prestigious and formidable military orders. Tasked primarily with the security of the capital city and the broader central district, they are the first line of defense against any threats to the heart of the kingdom.
Established by King Vendrick during his initial unification campaign, the Central Knights were envisioned as the embodiment of the kingdom's unity and strength. Drawing from the elite warriors of the central region, they were forged into a cohesive unit symbolizing the newly united realm.
Entrance into the Central Knights is highly coveted, demanding both physical prowess and unwavering loyalty to the crown. Recruits undergo rigorous training, mastering both conventional warfare techniques and specialized tactics tailored to urban defense and crowd control. Beyond combat, knights are educated in the kingdom's history, culture, and diplomacy, molding them into well-rounded defenders of Dracolite's values.
While their primary duty is the defense of the capital, the Central Knights also patrol the central district's towns, trade routes, and landmarks. They often act as intermediaries in disputes among the citizenry, ensuring peace and order. Additionally, they are called upon during times of external threats, forming the backbone of Dracolite's defense alongside other knight orders.
The Central Knights are equipped with finely crafted armor, a blend of chainmail and plate, bearing the emblem of Dracolite on a sash – a fierce dragon over a fortified city. They wield versatile weapons suited for both open-field battles and narrow urban skirmishes. A characteristic red plume on their helmets with blue colored armor with gold coloring differentiates them from other knight orders.
With the realm in a period of relative peace, the Central Knights continue to maintain a vigilant presence, always ready to spring into action should the need arise. Their ongoing training exercises and patrols ensure that Dracolite's heart remains secure under their watchful gaze.

Structure

The Central Knights are organized into various brigades, each responsible for different sectors of the central district. 
At the helm is the Knight Commander, a seasoned warrior appointed directly by the monarch. 
Beneath the Commander are the Captains of the Brigades. Each Brigade is unique with varying culture and tradition.    Lieutenants ranked under captain aid in organizing the brigade and train the units.  
Sergeants lead the knights in training and have numerous years under there belt. The first orders are often from the sergeants.
Lastly the rank-and-file knights, the backbone of the military

Culture

The Central Knights have been integral in numerous historical events, from repelling invaders to quelling internal uprisings. Their unwavering dedication has earned them immense respect from both the citizenry and their peers in other knightly orders. Tales of their valor are often sung by bards, and many young Dracolite children dream of donning the red-plumed helmet one day.
