Draconic Eye

The Draconic Eye is known for its specific magical quality of repelling Draconic. It is wanted by many human societies in a wish to protect themselves from their scaly neighbors.

Properties

Material Characteristics

It has a blood red center sometimes surrounded by royal blues, dark purples and streaks of gold. Other times there will be elegant forest greens and fiery oranges. Other times it will be colored with glittering black and sea green hues.

These colors are usually hidden by a dark brown with a tough, sandpaper-like covering. This is thought to protect the colorful stone from the harsh heat of the black rock.

Geology & Geography

The only known location of the Draconic Eye is Hell's Gate. Due to Hell's Gate's overwhelming heat and nearly endless paths, it's nearly impossible to find this stone buried among the black rock.

History & Usage

Discovery

It was discovered just recently by an unknown person. He was a hermit and lived by himself. The tale goes that he found this stone while he was moving. Thinking the stone would be useful he took it and used it to create fire.

After several months of using it, the rough outer covering wore away to reveal the stone. The hermit still used the stone to make fire but was careful he didn't ruin the magnificent colors. Once the rough covering completely wore away, he kept it with him saying it was too pretty to throw away.

As he moved homes once more, he stumbled into a cave and fell asleep. There was a town about two miles away that was attacked by a Draconic. The towns people escaped from their town and found the hermit inside the cave fast asleep. The people joined him thinking he was hiding too.

The people hunkered down in the cave scared for their lives. They heard the Draconic's wings beating overhead and the people waited, only to hear the Draconic fly away and not come back.

Through a series of process of elimination and some loud arguments among the towns people and the hermit, they eventually figured out the stone was the cause for their survival.

With this discovery the people took the stone and rebuilt their town. However, no one knows which town it is, if it even still exists or what happened to the stone.

Everyday use

This stone is quite rare. There are only two known stones in use, and no one knows which society has them.
