Salamander
These Draconics are everywhere! They're like bugs, if bugs were large lizard-things that were slimy and moist. (Not that Salamanders are slimy per se.)
But Salamanders are one of the most annoying things in Draconis. They're one of the nosiest creatures and they love getting into people's things and lighting it on fire. That's why if you're ever in a Slamander infested area (which is almost everywhere) put everything in a metal container, and double check to make sure it's not burning hot, before grabbing it.
Now, it might seem that I don't like these creatures and will tell you everything awful about them. When that's not at all the case. I simply think, in my humble opinon, that these creatures should just leave me alone and not root around in my personal belongs looking for....
Sorry, moving on.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Salamanders look very much like the Salamanders on earth, however, Salamanders in Draconis have a slightly more scaly, reptilian look and have several pairs of legs. These creatures have slick scales generally colored with reds, yellows, and oranges.
Another thing that sets Draconic Salamanders apart from earthly Salamanders is that Draconic Salamanders don't eat anything. They gain nutrients from fire, and there are some theories that they shed their scales and grow new ones when they are in a fire.
I have not seen this, but if this theory is true, however annoying and pesky Salamanders are, I would love to watch a Salamander regrow its scales in a fire.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Salamanders are extremely heat-resistant and are known for being scalding hot. Originally this heat was thought to be generated by the Salamander itself, when in reality there is a layer of water on the Salamanders skin that retains the heat, spreading it out and making it much more bearable for the Salamander, but for any person or creature that touches that layer of water burns themselves.
Salamanders are also known for being able to have some control over fire. I don't know how much, but I do know that a Salamander can slow down or speed up how fast a fire burns. A theory that has become quite popular is that they can direct a fire's path, or possibly create and extinguish a fire, similar to the Lung.
