The Makyian are perhaps the most diverse race in the entire universe. Though no official record can say for certain, it is largely believed that the Makyian were the first sentient beings in the cosmos.
Hailing from the distant fringes of space, the Makyian's homeworld of Makyo was once a rich Utopian planet brimming with life. Legends rumor that it was on Makyo that the first Dragonballs collected and the transcendental power of the Eternal Dragons gave rise to their ancient race. However, because this new power was only beginning to settle in the universe, the overflow of ambient energy infused the Makyian with terrifying and titanic power. Those who could control this strength rose up among their tattered clans and began to rampage across the planet in bloodlust as the power consumed their bodies and minds. In the wake of this destruction, the planet of Makyo was brought to utter ruin and the Makyian were forced to flee only days before the core of the planet underwent a catastrophic meltdown, destroying this first cradle of life.
However, the power of the Dragonballs could not be undone so easily. The mystical spheres were flung into the nearest star and the energies of the Dragon were transferred directly into its hellish light.
The Makyian scattered across the universe, colonizing innumerable worlds and over the course of time evolution slowly transformed their once great number into strictly distinct alien races.
Those of the Makyian who did retain their bloodline have become fewer and fewer as time has gone on, but the true descendants of Makyo are still highly sensitive to the star's radiation. When the Makyo star is in alignment with nearby worlds, Makyian are infused with ambient power heralding from ancient times. Few races can boast such extraordinary boons of power save for the Oozaru state of the Saiyan race.
Though the origins of ancient Makyo still remain mostly a mystery in modern times, the true Makyian are always bound to the fate of the star and its cosmic track through the universe. To this day cults of the Makyo star are still abundant, and while there are many names for the power of the star, none can deny that where the Makyian tread, destruction and chaos inevitably follow.
