Abraals
Mlúkrok: Abraal
Abraals are small newts found on the Vorran Peninsula in western Dragonía, specifically around the Naþvakró River to the west.
Abraals specialize in eating small insects that take shelter in certain flowers by the river Naþvakró during the day, which they find by climbing and sticking their heads into each flower, during which their face becomes covered in pollen. As the day goes by, the newts inadvertently end up pollinating the flowers in search of more insects, while the rest of the pollen is washed away as the creatures retreat to nearby streams and river shallows for the night.

Basic Information
Anatomy
The newts have unusually strong limbs and a prehensile tail, both of which are adaptions to minimize injuries while climbing up and down the flowers to feed.
Cultural significance
Due to their pale appearance, the Kroks who inhabit the peninsula often associate abraals with lunar imagery, and in some traditions the newts are believed to be visitors from the moon who then return home by the time it appears on the sky. Most Kroks avoid them, as abraal skin contains a toxin which, while not lethal, gives a burning sensation that lasts for several hours.1Original icelandic: Abraalar, singular: Abraali
