Ehí Shrubs

Ehí shrubs are perennial plants found in Kanix Forest in northern Dragonía, especially around Krystó Ridge. Small, black berries grow on the bushes during late summer, which are among the few sweet foods found in the region, and are highly sought after by the local Ameders.
The berries are used in traditional medicine, to sweeten various dishes -including júran and nezúl as well as wine- and the juice is also used to dye things dark purple or black, while yellow dye is made from the leaves. Hunters traditionally avoid eating ehí berries, as doing so in large amounts can cause the vision to darken for a while.
