Hyrríalúk

Hyrric: Hyrríalúk /hɪrːiaːluːkh/
Znagrúkic: Hjalúk /çaːluːkh/
Gláðic: Áð Gúvab /auːð kuːvap/
Hyrríalúk is the largest city of Kórt, northern province of the Znagrúk Empire in southern Dragonía, and main settlement of the ovine Hyrríans who are native to the region.
Located near Yrrkótap Falls, one of the most sacred places of the Hyrríans, Hyrríalúk straddles the Húnel River with a number of stone bridges connecting the two districts, far more than would reasonably be expected for a city of its size, which is due to religious reasons, as particularly pious Hyrríans avoid travelling along the same bridge or street multiple times a day.
Most buildings are made of stone with shingle- or thatched roofs, and commercial activity and socializing happens mostly at plazas -three on the northeastern side of the river and two to the southwest-, to avoid cutting off traffic on the narrow, almost labyrinthian streets. While this layout suits the locals and most other inhabitants of the empire just fine, Znagrúks living in Hyrríalúk have their own neighbourhood outside the city walls, as their size makes navigating the city difficult.
Znagrúk influence can also be seen at the largest plaza, which now features intricate brickwork instead of older cobblestone, and a shrine to the earth goddess Ykú1 now stands on a nearby hill built in a syncretic style, with the overall layout in Znagrúk style but adorned with glazed bricks in black and white, imitating traditional Hyrrían motifs.

Defences

The city is surrounded by ancient stone walls which historically defended the inhabitants against Gláðs to the east and Kóhans to the north, designed in such a way that even if the enemy managed to scale the walls they would be left vulnerable, as there are no stairs for them to descent but plenty of footholds only a Hyrrían could make use of.
Near each plaza is a watchtower, originally used to alert the inhabitants of approaching armies but now to make important announcements.

Geography

Fig and úrg orchards, fields of lupins and úxúat beans as well as other plants only Hyrríans eat surround the city, along with smaller patches of Hurhe, melons and antelope beans introduced by the Znagrúks.
